We asked
In line with the Care Act 2014, we have introduced a Strengths Based approach to how we work with adults in Lincolnshire. We found that within our Assessment and Support Planning processes we needed to explore how we record and use information about people’s religious and cultural needs.
We completed a customer experience project to find out if Adult Social Care consider people’s religious and cultural needs within our Assessments.
The average score given was around 7.15. The high scores told us that:
- discussions were about people’s strengths, for example what is going well for them
- discussions were about what people wanted to change or to happen
- practitioners had helpful information and advice

The feedback you provided will help us to shape co-production activity with people around:
- how we can use religious and cultural information in a better way
- how we can use the information to improve and better understand people’s lives
- how we can use the information to better understand people’s strengths
- how we can use the information to understand how people’s goals and outcomes are met

The findings from the survey have positively informed development workshops with practitioners. The workshops encourage a conversational approach to discussions around religion and culture. There are plans to introduce similar questions in some of our more recurrent surveys to gather more data on this topic.
