EIA scoping report

Overview

We have now submitted to Medway Council an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Scoping Report for a scheme of development at Chattenden Barracks.

The EIA Scoping Report summarises the work we have done to understand the environmental characteristics of the site so far, as well as detailing further studies and assessments we believe we need to carry out. It draws on the thorough site consideration process we have undertaken to date and considers topics such as ecology, traffic & transport and heritage.

Upon review, Medway Council will provide us an EIA Scoping Opinion setting out the assessments that they require to be included within a submitted Environmental Statement.

This is an important step in ensuring that our plans respect the site's environmental sensitivities. The EIA Scoping Opinion will inform the formal report of our EIA that we will submit with our Outline Planning Application - the Environmental Statement.
